What's Happening in Falkirk, Scotland…

Hogmanay event planned for Falkirk

Falkirk will be seeing in the New Year with a night of live musical performances at a special outdoor location this year, and some of the artists that will play have already been announced.

Rough Castle Experiences is the organisation that will put this event together and the chosen location for it will be the community woodland at Rough Castle. The headline artists for the show will be Skerryvore, a band that have won awards for their blend of rock and Celtic folk music. There will also be a performance by Camelon and District Pipe Band and a traditional ceilidh.

Giveaway promotional products that have been supplied by Falkirk shops can be a cheap, but effective way for the organisers of local events like this one to get the word out to the public quickly.

Speaking to the Falkirk Herald, Rhiannon McQuade from Rough Castle Experiences said that the plan was to try to revive some of the feeling of an old-fashioned Scottish Hogmanay celebration.

She then went on to add that:

“Every year we hear people saying there’s nothing to do, so we’re putting on an event this year to give the people of Falkirk something to do and somewhere to go.”

The Jim Jam Ceilidh Band will also be performing at the event, which is scheduled to take place on the night of 31st December.
