Historic Falkirk building to be turned into hotel

A historic building near Falkirk is set to be turned into a hotel that will target wedding parties, after the council granted the necessary planning permission for the proposals.

Weedingshall House is situated within the Polmont area and dates all the way back to the early part of the 19th Century. During its existence, it has been put to a number of different uses, having previously been employed as a school for youngsters who could not be accommodated by the mainstream education system, and as a home for children.

The school shut its doors four years ago and the building has been disused since then, but was purchased by the owners of a company that provides luxury glamping pods in 2018. These have since been installed around its grounds and will form part of the hotel – with suites set to be built within the house itself.

When new businesses such as luxury hotels are being launched, the people behind them often look to firms that can provide Logo Design services, to help them create a memorable brand.

The application submitted to the council says that the planned hotel would bring a significant building in the area back into use and would be a positive addition to the landscape of the surrounding countryside.

A date for it to open is yet to be revealed.
