Gala day to be held near Falkirk

The organisers of an annual gala day at a village not far from Falkirk have confirmed that the event will be returning in 2023 – for the first time since the start of the Covid-19 pandemic.

It had been hoped that the Carron and Carronshore Gala Day could make its return last summer, but in the end, it had to be cancelled again. It will be back for this year though, starting at 11am on the chosen day with a celebratory procession that will walk the route to Gairdoch Park, where the gala queen will have her coronation.

Planning for the event will take place at a special meeting next month at Carronshore Community Centre. The gala queen and others closely involved in it will be there to work out the programme for the day.

Banner printing from shops in Falkirk can be useful to those who are putting together events like this gala, as colourful Banners can help to advertise them and get local people into the party spirit.

The people of Carron and the wider borough should certainly be delighted to see the return of the gala, after a lengthy absence. The last one was held back in the summer of 2019.

The Carron and Carronshore Gala Day for 2023 is scheduled to be held on Saturday, 3rd June, and attendance is completely free.
