What's Happening in Falkirk, Scotland…

Falkirk to host charity run this year

Falkirk will be hosting a popular charity fundraising run again later in the year, and now residents of the town are being encouraged to put their names down for it early.

The Race for Life is an annual event that is put together by Cancer Research UK, which takes place across much of the country. It sees people run to raise cash for this important cause, and has become one of the UK’s most beloved charity events.

As in previous years, the Falkirk Race for Life will consist of three separate runs – the 10K, 5K and 3K. This means there is an option for people of all ages and fitness levels. The venue for it will once again be Callendar Park.

One of the methods that charities sometimes use to spread the word about fundraising activities like this is promotional pens. There are Falkirk print shops that can provide this kind of item.

The Scottish spokeswoman for Cancer Research UK, Lisa Adams, told a local source that:
“No matter how cancer affects us, life is worth racing for. Sadly, nearly one in two of us will get cancer in our lifetime, but all of us can help beat it.”

Adams went on to say that UK cancer survival rates had doubled since this event first launched.

It will take place in Falkirk on 22 June.
