Falkirk to get Christmas ice skating rink
Residents of Falkirk will be keen to get their skates on for the festive season this year, with the confirmation that an ice skating rink will be set up outdoors over the Christmas period.
Falkirk Leisure and Culture has arranged for this rink, which will feature synthetic ice. It is being described as a perfect family-friendly way of having some fun in the run-up to Christmas, and is already accepting bookings for skating sessions.
The venue for it will be local park The Helix, and the rink will be placed in front of the iconic Kelpies sculptures.
The benefits of synthetic ice means that those who slip are guaranteed a less painful landing. This will make it perfect for young children, or those of any age who have never taken to an ice rink before. Leisure and Culture has stated that it is more environmentally friendly, too.
