At present, this facility within the club grounds is used purely as a place to change before and after matches, and it is in a poor state of repair. The club wants to revamp it as a modern centre for use by the entire community that will be suitable for multiple purposes, including sports and local health and fitness events.
A dinner to celebrate the club’s half-century anniversary had already been planned for the autumn and is now set to double as a fundraising event. The club needs to raise in the region of £500,000 to be able to realise its ambitions for the Sunnyside Pavilion.
Giveaway Promotional Products produced by Falkirk shops that advertise the campaign are one way of generating awareness and helping to raise funds.
Speaking to the Falkirk Herald, the club’s Vice President, Mark Crawford, said that:
“This project has been in the planning stage for nearly three years now and so it’s really exciting seeing it come closer to becoming reality.”
Crawford added that the new facility would support rugby for girls and women, among other initiatives. It is hoped that grants will provide most of the necessary money.
