A rising wrestler who recently won the hearts of a few ladies on Saturday night television show Take Me Out has his sights set on another kind of knock-out as he comes to Lanarkshire for his latest match.
Marty Scurll, who is known colloquially as 'Party Marty', comes to Ballerup Hall in Lanarkshire to take part in a show held by the British Championship Wrestling organisation, the longest-running professional wrestling organisation in Scotland. Marty will be fighting Kid Fite, who is the reigning champion after winning the last East Kilbride fight.
Marty took part in ITV’s Take Me Out, which is hosted by Paddy McGuinness and since then, his wrestling career has grown. This Saturday though, it is likely to be a case of 'lights out' if the wrestler gets on the wrong side of his opponent.
Events like this often rely on a successful promotional campaign to get punters through the doors. Professional printing companies in East Kilbride have, in the past, produced leaflets and Posters to promote wrestling matches and other sporting events. The British Championship Wrestling organisation combines traditional printed materials with modern marketing techniques, such as social media channels, to raise awareness of its events.
Alongside Marty and Kid Fite, three other wrestling matches will be taking place on the evening, featuring wrestlers such as Nikki Storm, Red Lightning and Andy Wild.
The event will be held at Ballerup Hall in East Kilbride and tickets, which are priced at £10, will be available to purchase on the door.
