Dramalam Performing Arts School is located in East Kilbride and it is among the 10 such schools throughout the country to have been given the chance to travel to New York for a Broadway appearance next year. This opportunity would see 50 pupils at the school participate in acting workshops run by top industry professionals as well as watch a major show.
It is a remarkable achievement for a school that only opened in 2021 and Dramalam has now started a fundraiser to cover the cost of the travel. The school wants to raise enough to send a group of 50, with 25 of them being very young children. Flyer printing outlets in East Kilbride can be a cheap and effective way of spreading the word about fundraisers like this.
According to the Daily Record, Lianne McHugh, the founder of the school, told Lanarkshire Live:
“I am so proud and absolutely ecstatic to be given this incredible opportunity of a lifetime. We’ve been offered a five-day trip where we get to perform in a variety performance on Broadway along with nine other schools.”
The trip would be in October 2024.
