East Kilbride Men’s Shed is a support group for anyone over the age of 18 that offers recreational activities designed to help with their mental and physical health. The organisation wishes to lease St Leonard’s Community Hall for a period of a decade and a half at a rate of £1 a year, and has put a community access transfer request in to the council.
According to the Daily Record, the group included a statement alongside this request, which explains that the hall is needed due to the rising numbers of people interested in joining.
It then goes on to say that:
“Our aim is to create, develop and maintain a facility, namely a Men’s Shed. This is primarily a social space and workshop where people, particularly men, can engage in activities in the company of others that fulfil their need for social contact and creativity.”
One of the ways that community groups like this one can get the word out to more people is by having promotional Pens with their branding on, so that people can take them away for free.
The council is expected to announce its decision in May 2024.Get a Free Quote for Pens
