Alan Paterson is the man who has been tasked with pushing the club on and he has recruited a number of other ex-players to his backroom staff. Among them are Paterson’s new assistant Billy Dolan, Paul Bain and Steven McClung, in what is a real surprise for fans of the club ahead of the new season.
Prior to making this return to Show Park, Paterson was the manager of EK Amateurs, so he has retained his links to the town. He enjoyed considerable success in his last post, ensuring that hopes are high.
The chairman of East Kilbride Thistle, Peter Kelsall, spoke to a reporter from the East Kilbride News, saying that Paterson is eager to prove himself at a higher level, having spent several years managing amateur sides, adding that:
“We wanted to bring a freshness to the club and I’m really happy with these appointments. They are all ambitious young guys and East Kilbride men who we hope can take the club forward.”
Local football clubs often choose to rely on printing companies based within their hometown to supply them with items such as match day tickets and programmes.
