According to the Daily Record, Coca-Cola Enterprises (CCE) is spending £2.2 million on new equipment at its East Kilbride site. The soft drink giant has made the investment while getting ready to launch a new product later in 2014.
The East Kilbride facility on Milton Road has been run by CCE for decades, and this year the company is aiming to increase production at a rapid rate. The funds are being invested in a ‘state of the art robotic palletiser’, which is expected to bring line speeds up to 14,000 to 20,000 bottles per hour, improving production and being energy efficient at the same time.
The investment is part of CCE’s overall dedication to local manufacturing, according to operations director Jim Duddy. The facility is celebrating its 50th birthday this year and its latest developments are looking at using the latest technology for long-term efficiency.
The company is also getting ready to introduce ‘Coca-Cola Life’, a new drink that is said to contain lower sugar levels than the original. Duddy has expressed his excitement over the impending production of the new soft drink.
Coca-Cola is a worldwide brand that is instantly recognised by consumers. Its success has reinforced the need for a strong company brand, and other businesses can help theirs stand out too with poster printing in East Kilbride.
