Lanarkshire theatre group celebrates 100th show

A theatre group in Lanarkshire recently hit a real milestone as it celebrated hosting its 100th show in the region.

The amateur theatre company, Studio 32, recently completed its 100th performance in the region as part of its seasonal pantomime run. This year’s pantomime, Ali Baba and the 40 Thieves, was made possible by volunteers and performers from the company.

One of the co-founders of Studio 32, Vikki England, recently spoke to the East Kilbride News about the club’s milestone, saying:

“Studio 32 has been a huge part of my life for 27 years. I’ve met some amazing people, made some truly great friendships – and actually met my husband through the club. Some of the happiest and proudest moments of my life have been on or off stage with Studio 32. And the talent that exists in East Kilbride is truly amazing. We’re lucky to have attracted and retained many shining stars.”

After 100 shows, Studio 32 has gone through several productions, performances and often raises awareness with the help of promotional tools such as Posters and programmes. By working together with aspiring local actors and local printing companies, East Kilbride and the wider Lanarkshire region has remained entertained by the theatre group for almost 30 years.

Five of Studio 32’s 10 founding members still work with the company and have helped to develop a larger group of talented actors and production staff. The hard work of these staff is said to be the driving force behind the 28 years of shows.
