East Kilbride Shopping Centre was the venue for a recent employment showcase that was designed to get young people into a job that would see them through Christmas and into the New Year. Job fairs like this one are crucial in helping people to find work and are often a great source of information, not just about which jobs are on offer but also how to get them. Leaflets and Brochures are often given out detailing jobs that are available, and these are printed using services like flyer printing from local Print companies.
East Kilbride residents aged between 16 and 25 were welcomed into the council-run event, which was hosted with support from Skills Development Scotland, Routes to Work South and Jobcentre Plus.
Councillor Chris Thompson is in charge of the Enterprise Services Committee at South Lanarkshire Council. Chris spoke about its involvement in the job fair and the reasons for making this happen, saying:
“The council is committed to doing whatever it can to support our young people into work and help local businesses attract the talent they need to grow. Youth unemployment is something we are familiar with from the past and we are determined not to let it blight another generation. There is so much talent in our communities – we cannot afford to lose it.”
The job fair was open to all young people and was free to attend.Get a Free Quote for Brochures Get a Free Quote for Print
