Homes plan submitted to council

Plans for the construction of new family homes in East Kilbride on a site currently occupied by the Stewartfield Farm pub have now been submitted to the local council.

The company behind these

proposals, RAH Developments, is now awaiting approval from South Lanarkshire Council. If they go ahead, they would see 13 six- and five-bedroom homes for families built there.

According to the plans, each home would require a 400-450sqm plot size, with those plots positioned in the corners of the site needing approximately 900sqm. Access would be via Dunrobin Drive, as is the case at the moment.

The proposals also indicate that existing homes located there would be separated by usable greenspaces, while those greenspaces already situated close by would be linked to through the addition of a footpath.

Although South Lanarkshire Council has not yet provided any indication as to whether it will approve the plans, RAH Developments is confident of being granted permission – as the north of the site already has residential planning consent while the southern section has existing buildings on it.

“The principal of residential development on the majority of this part of the site should therefore be acceptable subject to assessment against the council’s development plan,” concludes the report.

Should permission be granted, developments like these often use Flyers or brochure printers to help showcase the homes and build interest in the locality.
