According to First Minister Alex Salmond, East Kilbride will be seeing the creation of new IT jobs soon, as a global company has Plans to double its workforce in the area. The Daily Record reports that this was announced during Salmond’s trip to Peel Park at the end of March.
Wipro Ltd, the global IT and consulting company, has announced its plans to increase its workforce within East Kilbride and establish its presence in Aberdeen. These combined plans could create more than 90 jobs.
In East Kilbride, Wipro Ltd is creating up to 80 new jobs in the Technical IT sector, which is getting support to the tune of £475,00 from Regional Selective Assistance funding. Many firms use flyer printing in East Kilbride to advertise new jobs to the locals, as this helps to spread the word.
As well as the East Kilbride plans, the company is aiming to expand its delivery centre in Aberdeen, which will provide many new jobs within the energy sector. It is reported that 12 Aberdeen University graduates are joining Wipro Ltd soon.
Salmond said that Wipro’s support and commitment is highly welcomed in Scotland, and it is testament to both the country’s business prospects as well as the talented workforce.
