East Kilbride man set to dance for charity

The owner of a company in East Kilbride is set to ditch his usual uniform of high-visibility vest, safety goggles and hard hat for a pair of dancing shoes, as he seeks to raise cash for charity.

Alan Bryant will be showcasing

his moves in support of the appeal called Brick by Brick set up by the Prince and Princess of Wales Hospice. This is aimed at raising enough cash to fund the construction of a brand new hospice.

Bryant will be accompanied by Maria Oakes, who is a professional dancer, and will be up against five rivals on the night – all of them hailing from the corporate world.

The charity event is called (A Little Less) Strictly Come Dancing and will take place in early March, in the Glasgow Hilton, with Bryan Burnett and Carol Smillie serving as the hosts. There will also be a special guest, in the form of Strictly Come Dancing’s Gleb Savchenko.

Bryant, who runs the Multivista firm in East Kilbride, told the Daily Record that:

“I’ve actually been to the event a couple of times as a guest and it is one of my favourite fundraising nights because it is such good fun. It’s a real star-studded ball.”

This will be the seventh successive year that it has taken place and local charity events often opt to use leaflet printers to help with advertising.
