A 13-year-old girl from East Kilbride who is taking the sport of ‘canicross’ by storm has set her sights on World Cup glory later this year, to follow up her recent Scottish National Championships triumph.
Jada Amoah claimed the glory in this tournament at the end of last year, and has already booked her place at the World Cup, which will be held in Canada this year.
Canicross involves a runner and dog racing along cross-country tracks while attached to each other using a bungee line.
Alongside her Alaskan Malamute partner named Zorik, Jada entered the Scottish National Championships, where she won a gold medal before going on to the World Cup qualifiers held in Moray’s Culbin Forest.
This proved to be another triumphant occasion for the East Kilbride teenager and her dog, ensuring that she will have the chance to compete in the biggest tournament of all.
Should her family and friends wish to travel to Canada to support her, they will be able to use banner printing in East Kilbride to ensure they have Banners showing their backing.
The teenager, who attends Calderglen High, uses Lanarkshire group Cani-fit for her training, making use of the Chatelherault and Strathclyde country parks for this purpose.
The sport is on the rise throughout the UK, with the European Championships set to take place in Scotland this year.Get a Free Quote for Banners
