East Kilbride Coca Cola factory celebrates 50th anniversary

On 19th May, the East Kilbride Coca Cola Enterprises factory celebrated its 50th anniversary, marking what is described as a ‘landmark milestone’ for innovation within the company and Scotland as a whole.

The operations director at the East Kilbride factory, Jim Duddy, led the 50th anniversary celebrations along with the Chairman and CEO of Coca Cola Enterprises, John Brock, as well as First Minister Alex Salmond MSP.

According to Duddy, the anniversary is testament to the commitment Coca Cola Enterprises has shown East Kilbride and the rest of Scotland over the decades. He expressed how proud he was at the opportunity to celebrate such a special year for both the company and the country.

Similarly, John Brock explains that the East Kilbride factory is proof of the legacy of the company, and it continues to be passionate about contributing to the community.

A special new bottle has also been launched in line with the anniversary, which is to commemorate the country’s Homecoming 2014 celebrations with inspiration from the limited edition bottle created for a similar event back in 2009.

First Minister Alex Salmond MSP said that the Homecoming celebration is a great endorsement for Coca Cola Enterprises, reflecting the iconic brand which can be recognised by the style and colour of the writing – elements that may be enhanced through printing services in East Kilbride.
