Competition launches to create better green spaces

A competition has launched in the East Kilbride region to encourage local people to get involved with creating better green spaces in their communities.

Central Scotland Forest Trust is an environmental charity that is reaching out to local residents of East Kilbride and the surrounding areas, encouraging them to create better outdoor spaces in their communities. As part of this project, the charity is running a competition called The Greatest Greenspace contest.

The Greatest Greenspace competition encourages local people to grab a spade and get digging to help improve shared outdoor space. The competition is open to people of all ages and Central Scotland Forest Trust is encouraging people from all walks of life to get involved. There is no restriction upon who can enter either, meaning that solo green-fingered gardeners are in with as much of a chance of winning the competition as a large community group or school.

The prize for the competition is a paid-for shopping trip to Dobbie’s Garden Centre, a local outdoor emporium, where the winner can stock up on plants, seeds, tools and accessories to help keep green spaces in East Kilbride green. Entrants are encouraged to create the best green space that they can, and then email a photograph of their efforts to Central Scotland Forest Trust to be in with a chance of winning.

Competitions like this are often promoted with leaflets or Posters that are produced using full colour printing. East Kilbride News is helping to promote this particular campaign by featuring it on its website.
