Willie McGuire, who first made his name playing for Airdrie Football Club, held a launch event to mark the publication of 'Missing', his thriller novel. The celebration was held at the Railway Inn pub, where local supporters turned out in droves to buy the Books and have them signed by the new author.
Speaking about the evening, Willie said:
“The launch was great, I couldn’t have asked for any more. I took 180 Copies of the book thinking I wouldn’t even need half of that but ended up selling them all."
“I am overwhelmed with the response and reviews from people and thank them all for turning out and making the launch so special.”
In order to drum up some extra support for the launch event, Willie utilised the help of local printing companies which were able to provide high quality Posters.
Willie has gone through three years of turmoil in his attempt to see his work in Print, so realising this dream and seeing so many people supporting him will have inevitably boosted his confidence in his writing. He clearly continues to receive a lot of support from those who admired him during his footballing days but he is also gaining credibility as an author.
The book has been professionally published and has been produced by an established printing company. East Kilbride and Hamilton residents wishing to pick up a copy can also do so from bookshops on their own high streets.
