Watford welcomes two nights of comedy

A well-known English comedian will be stopping by Watford on his latest tour of the country with a pair of shows.

In a two-night spectacular, Shropshire stand-up comedian Stewart Lee, will be playing back-to-back shows at a popular Watford venue. Theatres, clubs, and other kinds of establishments hosting comedy nights sometimes use flyer printing services to create colourful advertisements that encourage ticket sales for shows.

Dubbed “the world’s greatest living stand-up” by the Times newspaper, Lee is set to storm the stage at the Palace Theatre for two one-hour long sets entitled Snowflake and Tornado respectively.

As well as a stand-up comedian, Lee is both a writer and director. During the ‘90s he was part of the TV/radio comedy pairing Lee and Herring, with collaborator Richard Herring. His stand-up routine is characterised by deadpan delivery and repetition and in 2011 he was recognised by the British Comedy Awards for his television series Stewart Lee's Comedy Vehicle. He also co-directed and co-wrote Jerry Springer: The Opera, which became a West End sensation. The multi-talented comedian has also worked for the Sunday Times, writing music reviews.

Stewart Lee will perform live at the Watford Palace Theatre on Clarendon Road in Watford on Tuesday, May 10 at 7:30 pm and Wednesday, May 11 at 9:30 pm. The shows are suitable for those aged 14 and above.
