This walk is called The Taylor Trek, in tribute to Graham Taylor – the former Watford FC manager. It is intended to honour his legacy as well as to raise money for local charities. The organisations that will benefit this year are Rennie Grove Peace Hospice and the Community Sports and Education Trust run by Watford FC. This will be the fourth year in a row that the event has taken place.
As with the previous occasions, sponsorship will be provided by Mercer & Hole, a local accountancy firm. Its business and audit advisory partner is Jo Upshall. Speaking to the Watford Observer, she said:
“This fantastic event, now in its fourth year, means so much to us, supporting two important charities in our community. It’s great to see the event grow in popularity year on year.”
When it comes to promoting charity fundraisers in the town, poster printing by Watford shops can be helpful. Putting up Posters is a good way to spread the word.
The Taylor Trek provides participants with a choice of three different routes. There is the 3.5-mile Family Route, the 8.3-mile Medium Route and the 18-plus-mile Challenge Route.
It will be held on 12th October.
