Watford to welcome iconic stage show

Watford is set to welcome a cult musical show to town this spring, as Priscilla Queen of the Desert sashays into town.

This show is based on the 1994 movie ‘The Adventures of Priscilla Queen of the Desert’, which centres on a road trip undertaken by a transgender woman and two drag queens. It has been adapted into a stage musical by Cassio Productions, a Watford-based amateur theatre company that specialises in musicals. The company is promising audiences an evening filled with spectacular costumes and heart-warming laughs.

The venue for the show will be Watford Palace Theatre and it will be the perfect way for residents to warm up for summer. Martyn Knight is directing it, marking his first show at the helm for Cassio Productions for over a decade.

Poster printing by shops in Watford can be a good way for local amateur dramatics groups to promote their upcoming shows. Colourful Posters are effective for grabbing attention.

Knight spoke to the Watford Observer about the show:
“This will be my fourth production of Priscilla and it’s a show dear to my heart. The show is a jukebox musical, with some amazing and popular songs of the era.”

He added that it also features important themes of friendship and survival.

Priscilla Queen of the Desert will be playing at the Palace Theatre between the 12 and 16 May.
