Small firms in Watford receive support

Watford’s small businesses obtained significant backing recently.

The COVID-19 crisis has had a large economic impact. Nonetheless, more than 1,000 Watford-based small enterprises secured grants to help them cope with the unprecedented situation. The local authority has confirmed that a sum exceeding £15 million has been spent on the grants. Business Cards often help small companies when it comes to networking and establishing new connections.

Peter Taylor, the Mayor for Watford, told the Watford Observer:

“With the council, the local Chamber of Commerce and the Watford BID, we have a strong support network in place for our business community, any business in need of support should get in touch.”

Three different sets of grants were rolled out by the government. Many of the beneficiaries of the initiatives were able to claim £10,000 each. However, some organisations were eligible to pick up £25,000.

Meanwhile, the council is keen to signpost entrepreneurs to other types of assistance. Businesses have been given optimism by a framework that includes access to loans, tax deferrals and the job retention mechanism.

It is no wonder that the business community of Watford required quite a lot of help. Considerable economic disruption has been caused because the public has listened sensibly to government advice. Community Mobile Business data demonstrated a local drop in relation to visiting retail premises.
