Plans that were submitted to the borough council and that would see Watford Colosseum revived as a venue for live events have now been given the green light to move forward.
This building is situated on Rickmansworth Road in Watford and was constructed 85 years ago. It is run by AEG, and the company submitted Plans to Watford Borough Council for it to be given a complete makeover so that it can be brought back into use.
The council approved them at a recent meeting and the work will now be able to get underway.
It will see several improvements made to the ground floor of the building. They will include the addition of mobile counters and a box office, as well as the redesign of cloak rooms and the bar and the construction of a guardrail over the office.
The circle bar on the floor above will be given a new layout too, as part of the project.
Brochure printing outlets in Watford could help to showcase the various new and improved amenities once the work is finished.
According to the Plans that were submitted to the council, 1930s art deco will be the style used for the redesign of the venue. AEG was chosen by the borough council last year to manage it.
