Chris Harrison was the victim of an explosive device during 2010. It was not his first tour to Afghanistan, and the leadership Corporal Harrison showed will be remembered at Lea Farm Park in Garston. Mark Totten, a lieutenant colonel who was in charge of Corporal Harrison, told the Watford Observer:
“It is really befitting of the man that an area dedicated to play and coming together is one of the one of the ways we can remember him. He was someone who brought good humour, joy and companionship.”
Lieutenant Colonel Totten stressed that Corporal Harrison was a remarkable individual who had supported his team and had believed in the cause that he served.
The father of Corporal Harrison, Martin Harrison, commented on how appropriate the memorial site was. Chris Harrison had played in the area and on one occasion broken his arm there. He had attended a local primary school, having being born within Watford. It's possible that the service may be commemorated by using a sign printing company.
Corporal Harrison had enlisted as a Royal Marine during the course of 2003. He became a mortar specialist after four years. Friends, family and schoolchildren attended the event in his honour.
