Local companys charity support is honoured

The support shown by a company in Watford for an Abbots Langley-based charity has received recognition.

Mike Cole, who is both the managing director and owner of the Imagine Estate Agency, has devoted much of his spare time to raising money for DEMAND, an organisation that creates specialist equipment for disabled people.

Having made DEMAND the firm’s nominated charity for this year, he has provided sponsorship and backing for several events designed to raise cash for it, with his employees also contributing.

Earlier in the year, they responded to his challenge to make £500 apiece for the charity, with Dean Carr, James Bradley and Sadie Stock generating four times that through a charity skydive.

In addition to this, Imagine Estate Agents’ lettings manager Mark Matthews raised over £200 for DEMAND by undertaking a 500km cycle ride between London and Paris.

Denise Gillies from DEMAND told the Watford Observer that the company had been motivated by the work that the charity does, adding:

“I can honestly say that without Imagine’s help it would have been much more difficult to secure the support we have so far.”

The organisers of charity efforts within the local area, like these ones, often use flyer printing in Watford to help spread the word about them.

Next up for DEMAND is a gala fundraiser, which will be held at the home of Watford Football Club.
