Care home gets pub-themed room

A care home called Chalfont Court has recently opened a space themed as a pub for its residents.

Hilda Rodgers, who is 101, is the

most elderly person living at Chalfont Court. She opened the pub-themed room at the launch. The home is located within Uxbridge Road near Watford. Promotional Drinkware from Watford could be used to advertise products to visitors in attendance at Chalfont Court. Jane Jones, the manager of the care home, told the Watford Observer:

“We came up with the idea of having a pub in the home to help residents relive some of their memories and have the chance to enjoy a comfortable pub setting, with a drink, dominoes, darts and pub quizzes.”

Ms Jones pointed out that the innovation allowed residents to socialise with their friends and families. She added that the location of the feature was handy for the elderly people because it meant that staff could be close to them at all times. This reassurance may have contributed to a successful launch. A donation of about £200 was given to a local animal charity by the care home management to help mark the occasion.

Chalfont Court can deliver accommodation for almost 50 people at a time. It also delivers nursing care. Its residents are typically affected by health conditions like poor mental health, dementia or learning difficulties. All the inmates are over 65 years old at the moment.
