One of the most famous and quirky landmarks in Preston could be set for a major revamp after its new owners unveiled ambitious Plans for the future.
The hot potato tram has been a fixture in the town for seven decades, selling spuds with a variety of fillings from a vintage tram. Now owned by Spud Bros, the company has revealed Plans to replace the tram with a couple of sizeable shipping containers. These would measure 8ft-by-20ft and would sit next to each other to create one very large unit.
Spud Bros has confirmed that the location for the business would remain the Flag Market, even if its Plans get the go ahead. The application submitted to the council says the containers would be redesigned in a way that makes them resemble a vintage Preston tram.
This process would include adding a mural created by local artist Shawn Sharpe; it would also involve the addition of overhanging fascias.
When small firms here in the town need to advertise their services to local people, flyer printing can be the ideal solution. Flyers are a cost-effective way of spreading the word either door-to-door or via local venues.
Owners of the Lancashire hot potato tram are looking forward to serving their regular customers from their newly revamped premise.
