Former Preston church to become restaurant

A building in Preston that used to house a church will be getting a new lease of life as a restaurant.

The building in question is the old Fishergate Baptist Church, which is located in the Fishergate section of the city. This church was part of life in Preston for over 150 years, but it closed almost a decade ago. Then, the building was occupied by a French bistro chain called Bistro Pierre, but it has lain empty for the past year. Now, the news has broken that a new eatery will be opening in it.

This restaurant will go by the name Luka, and its menu will be a global one. Among the dishes that are set to be on offer are steaks and other delicacies from Mediterranean countries. In addition to full meals, the restaurant will have breakfast and brunch Menus too.

When new eateries are first launched in the city, they often find that Preston flyer printing outlets are useful to them. This is because Flyers are a good way of getting the word out quickly.

Luka was founded by Bariscan Avcu. Speaking to Blog Preston, he said:
“Luka is more than a restaurant. It’s a place where exceptional food, warm hospitality and unforgettable experiences come together.”

The precise date when it will open remains unclear, but it is likely to be within a matter of weeks.
