Iconic electronic act to perform gig in Preston

One of the most innovative electronic acts of the 1990s will be coming to Preston next month as part of a UK tour.

The Orb is considered to be among the acts that spearheaded the ambient electronic genre. They rose to prominence at the beginning of the decade and enjoyed chart success with the song Little Fluffy Clouds in 1990. Their debut album, which was called The Orb’s Adventures Beyond the Ultraworld, was also a hit and is one of the era’s defining albums. All of this should ensure plenty of interest in their Preston show.

They are touring the country in support of their latest album Buddhist Hipsters, which was released last year. 53 Degrees will be the venue for their gig in Preston, marking another top booking for the venue since its 2025 relaunch. Over the past year, it has also hosted the likes of Newton Faulkner and Utah Saints.

Logo Design services in Preston can be useful to local venues when they are preparing to reopen. This is because a new logo can help to revive the brand.

The Orb is a duo made up of Alex Paterson and Michael Rendall. Paterson founded the band in 1988 with Jimmy Cauty, and he has been its sole permanent member in the years since.

Their show in Preston is scheduled to take place on Friday, 9 October.
