Plans for the construction of a new leisure development at a Preston site are moving forward, with the financing now in place.
This project will be called Wallend Road and built on the edge of the River Ribble. The man behind it is Eddie Sloane, who is also the founder of Trax Motorsport. He gained the necessary planning permission from Preston City Council over two years ago but has had a battle to put together the funding required. Now that issue has been resolved.
The development is set to cover 33 hectares and the focal point of it will be a ‘leisure lake’. It will provide opportunities for water sports activities, such as stand-up paddle-boarding, canoeing, windsurfing, and waterskiing.
In addition to this, there will also be a track for mountain bike racing and a dry ski slope. With all these activities, it is sure to be a popular venue when it opens.

There could still be some time to wait before construction on this facility gets started though. The local authority wants guarantees on a range of issues, including tree conservation and site drainage.
