The city had originally been due to celebrate the festive season with a production of the fairy tale Rapunzel. This would have run throughout the month, with Stage City serving as the venue for it. The show was cancelled late in the day though, after Darling Productions UK revealed that there had been unforeseen problems with the set. It looked like that was that, but now a last minute replacement has been put together.
Instead of the pantomime, Preston will now be hosting a show called Santa’s Frozen Adventure. This lasts for an hour and will feature snow, cookies and songs. The plot involves the Evil Snow Queen trying to stop Christmas while Santa and his elves try to rescue it – with help from the audience.
The venue will still be Stage City and tickets will be available soon. Preston venues sometimes use promotional banner printing to raise awareness of upcoming shows.
A spokesperson for Stage City told Blog Preston:
“We had a lot of customers contact us asking if something else could be organised, so we decided to put our feet in the water with these new events.”
Alongside the show there will be festive film nights during December.
