Preston to welcome science festival

The Lancashire Science Festival (LSF) is due to make its return to Preston towards the end of October.

The festival acts as an introduction to the science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) fields, and it seeks to inspire and encourage children to consider real-world uses. It will boast a full programme of live shows, demonstrations and workshops, offering hands-on experience. It is to be presented by a series of leading scientists and practitioners in the STEM fields.

In the past, the event has attracted numbers of around 20,000, becoming a regular fixture in the diaries of many families. Indeed, it previously took the Best Community or Business Engagement Campaign prize at the Heist Awards, held as part of the Northern Marketing Awards.

The university is also holding a Virtual LSF in order to prevent thousands of children from losing out on the opportunity to learn about these subjects. According to Blog Preston, Dr Liz Granger, LSF Director, said:

“We’re also really pleased we can bring a bit of the Lancashire Science Festival into classrooms across the North West.”

Entry is free, but those hoping to attend should book in advance. Printing services can be a valuable resource when it comes to organising a forthcoming educational event like this.

The Lancashire Science Festival will take place between 10am and 4pm on Saturday, 23rd October at the campus of the University of Central Lancashire, Preston.
