Children's author, Dame Jacqueline Wilson, is due to take part in a book signing in Preston at the beginning of April.
This award-winning writer was born in Somerset and is best known for her 'Tracy Beaker' series. She initially worked in publishing and then at 17 became a journalist with DC Thomson.
Jacqueline has sold over 40 million Books UK wide which were subsequently translated into around 30 languages. Indeed, the 26-part series adaptation of 'The Story of Tracy Beaker' achieved CBBC's highest-ever ratings for a drama (over five series).
She has received many accolades for her writing. 'The Illustrated Mum' picked up the 'Guardian Children's Fiction Prize' and 'Girls in Tears' claimed the British Book Awards title of 'Children's Book of the Year' for 2003. Jacqueline also served as Children's Laureate between 2005-2007.
Her most recent book is 'The Girl Who Wasn’t There', a tale in which two sisters discover a tower with its own forbidden room right at the top, and then become subject to curious and magical occurrences.
Tickets for two adults and two children cost £14.99 and include a copy of the book. Graphic design plays an important role in many aspects of publishing, in its delivery of the finished product.
'Meet Jacqueline Wilson' has a starting time of 11.00 am on Friday 5th April at Waterstones, Preston.
