The CTA regional final will include two distinctive Preston buildings next year. The ceremony will recognise UCLan Social Spaces and New Market Hall. Poster printing can brighten up ceremonies such as this. A spokesperson at the CTA made clear:
“The Civic Trust Awards is one of the only remaining independent built environment awards schemes, not linked to any organisation, institution or publication and operates on a not-for-profit basis.”
One of the strengths of the CTA process is that it allows the public to make a contribution to the decision-making process. Individuals are free to participate, having the right to nominate and judge local initiatives.
Optimistic about its impact, the CTA is based on a bold vision. The hope is that top quality environmental design and architecture can be promoted. Values such as sustainability, accessibility and inclusiveness do need to be supported. At the same time, the CTA aspires to boost projects which add cultural dynamism to local economies.
A panel of judges will convene to weigh up the qualities of the diverse landmarks. It is going to consider a wide range of factors including comprehensive design standards. Communications to the successful applicants are set to be made during the middle of the month of December. Commendations and international awards may flow from the procedure.
