The classic play 'The Ghost Train' is due to be performed by Preston Drama Club over four days in mid-January.
This comedy-thriller was written by Arnold Ridley, who played Private Godfrey in the BBC's 'Dad's Army'. This came towards the end of a long and varied theatre career for the actor and playwright.
It first went into production in 1925, has been filmed three times, and continues to be popular with both professional and non-professional theatrical groups alike.
The play concerns six passengers left stranded late one night, at a remote railway station in Cornwall, due to the actions of a young man. They choose to dismiss the strange stationmaster's frightening tales of a ghost train, instead deciding to remain in the waiting room until morning. It is, however, a decision they begin to regret, as it would appear a fiendish plot is underway.
The cast includes Alban Dorning as Saul Hodgkin, Peter Howarth as Richard Winthrop, Maria Adamson as Elsie Winthrop and James Clow as Charles Murdock. The play is directed by Dennis Yardley.
Tickets cost between £11 and £12, and may be subject to a booking fee. Stationery printers can be of great value to those engaged in the production of a stage or theatrical event.
'The Ghost Train' will take place at 7.30pm between Wednesday 10th of January and Saturday 13th January at The Playhouse, Preston.Get a Free Quote for Stationery
