New Preston charity shop supports hospice

A new, recently-opened charity shop in Preston’s centre is raising funds for a children’s hospice called Derian House. It was officially opened by Leo Cliffe who cut a ribbon. As a recipient of assistance from the charity, Cliffe feels at home with the staff at the establishment. Stationery printers can help third sector organisations, especially when they are expanding.

Kiki Deville is a patron of Derian House. Her own son was looked after by the charity. The television star explained the importance of the new store. She said:

“We really need your support at the moment because we’ve not been able to have any fundraising events so the shop is really helping keep Derian afloat. So, come down and do some shopping.”

Located opposite a KFC on Fishergate, the shop is highly accessible. It is the first central place that Derian House has occupied.

Over 400 young people and babies with life-restricting health conditions are being assisted by the hospice at the moment. Donations of furniture and other items are being encouraged, and a delivery service has been made available.

To ensure that the project is successful, volunteers are being recruited. The hope is that individuals with a record of delivering customer service will step forward. However, the charity is also keen to attract anyone with relevant third sector experience.
