New Hall Lane development gets the go-ahead

Plans for a significant development at New Hall Lane in Preston are set to move forward, following the news that the highways and transport cabinet member for Lancashire County Council has approved them.

This project will see the layout of the road itself improved, as well as parking space there being increased to double its current level – something that both businesses and residents in the area have been specifically requesting.

John Fillis, cabinet member for Lancashire County Council's highways and transport, gave the nod to the Plans, which will come under the South Ribble, Preston and Lancashire City Deal scheme. Afterwards, he told Blog Preston that:

“The aim is to improve the space for pedestrians and make it a much nicer area. In turn this will help to make it more eye-catching and appealing to both shoppers and businesses.”

Shops based within the city always have the option of turning to brochure printers in Preston, to provide them with the Brochures they need to show off their products.

Lord Heseltine launched the City Deal scheme during 2014. It is set to run for a decade and bring major improvements to the city’s walking, cycling and public transport routes.

The New Hall Lane development will take in the area from the Mosley Street junction to the one at Acregate Lane. Fillis stated that it would help cut the number of accidents and enhance the quality of the air.
