A building in Preston that was constructed more than 200 years ago and holds Grade II listed status could soon be converted into homes, which would return it to its historic usage.
This building is situated in Chapel Street and it was most recently deployed as offices for a solicitor. The business moved out a year and a half ago, and the building has been lying empty ever since. With a history going back 225 years, the building was originally built as a set of smart townhouses for ‘well-off’ residents of Preston.
Under Plans that have now been submitted to the local council, it would be converted into a number of city centre flats. As part of that, a great deal of work would be carried out to refurbish both the inside and outside of the building, in addition to some minor demolitions.
The extra space provided by knocking some small parts of it down is set to be used as storage room for bins and bicycles, as well as a private area for people living in the flats. 10 in total would be created under the terms of the Plans.
Graphic Design Services in Preston could help housing developers like this one create images to support their applications.
No word on when the council will reach a decision has been revealed.
