Lie of the Land event looks to Prestons future

The future of Preston shall be discussed at the upcoming Lie of the Land event.

Local people are being encouraged to contribute their thoughts to part of the Preston City Deal. The Lie of the Land is about getting people to participate in debates about the future of peripheral areas. Promotional Pens from Preston can be useful at local events. The City Deal includes central government and it might lead to the construction of more than 17,000 homes.

In Certain Places (ICP) will stage the Lie of the Land event. The idea is that research about the edge of the city can be put to good use. Preston City Council engaged with ICP to get input into what could be done to improve the quality of areas around the city.

Journalist Peter Hetherington is prepared to give a talk on the expansion of the city. He will be joined by Julia Heslop, an artist. A bus trip will take participants to a few of the sites in question.

Presentations will play a role in getting residents interested in the issues. There shall be a lot of ground to cover as individuals consider their relationships with the town. Matters of urban policy and planning shall be addressed.

Bartle Hall, which occupies an attractive setting, is the location for the event. Lunch shall be provided to those who attend.
