The Oadby Owl is situated on Glen Road in the town. It has always been owned and run by the Hungry Horse pub chain, but was recently taken over by Greene King. Now the new owners are making big upgrades to the building after purchase and are promising that local people will be excited by the new-look venue. It closed for this work to get underway in mid-June.
Greene King has not revealed many details of what it is planning for the pub at the moment. According to the Leicester Mercury, the pub issued a public statement saying that:
“We’ll be saying goodbye for a little while as we make some exciting changes here at the Oadby Owl. Keep checking for updates on the changes and the Plans for our exciting re-launch events.”
