Brocks Hill Country Park is on Washbrook Lane, Oadby, and is the holder of a Green Flag Award. Now, it has improved the amenities that it offers to local people even further, with the launch of the play area. It contains a range of equipment, such as a frame for climbing, a balance trail and a zip line.
Oadby and Wigston Borough Council has also sought to ensure that it is inclusive, by adding equipment suitable for children who have special educational needs. They will be able to benefit from a special tactile play section and sensory panels.
The play area was officially launched this month, and Jeffrey Kaufman from the council told the Leicester Mercury that the park was beloved by local people due to its amenities.
He went on to add that:
“It’s important that we continue to invest in our parks, looking to improve the offer for our communities, including children.”
Local councils sometimes use flyer printing shops in the same town when they add new attractions to parks and other public facilities, so that they can let people know about these amenities.
Brocks Hill opened in 1999 and gets more than 150,000 visitors annually.
