Hungry residents of Oadby will soon have a new place to go when they want to eat out, with the confirmation that a restaurant that specialises in smoked meat dishes is coming to the town.
The name of that restaurant is Hickory’s Smokehouse and it is a very successful brand. The menu that it offers is dominated by grilled barbecue-style meat dishes of the kind that are popular in the US ‘deep south’. This is something that has already proven to be a big hit in other parts of the country, as the chain has branches everywhere from Chester to Nottingham.
Now it is planning to expand into Leicestershire – and Oadby is the chosen location. The restaurant is set to be based on London Road, at a site that was formerly home to a pub called Fox Pond.
When new eateries first open in Oadby, they have to advertise quite heavily. Themed Promotional Products that can be given away to the public are one way of doing that.
This branch of Hickory’s Smokehouse will use authentic US smokers for cooking the meat. Among the dishes that will be on offer are Barbecue Pulled Pork, Texas-Style Brisket and Memphis Ribs.
There will be an outdoor eating and drinking section that is secluded and a safe play area for children. The restaurant is scheduled to open its doors during the summer.
