Things go swimmingly at MK leisure facility

Swimming lessons for toddlers and parents, which are aimed at those aged up to four years old, have been launched at Milton Keynes’ Freedom Leisure Centre.

Freedom Leisure has joined forces with Water Babies to provide these lessons. The intention is to help small children develop confidence in the water, via play-based instruction, alongside their parents.

The centre is located at Willen Lake and the swimming pool that it has is small in size, with warm water, which is considered to be the ideal setting for babies and toddlers to learn about swimming. The duration of each lesson will be thirty minutes and they will be taking place on Tuesday mornings.

Both non-members and members of the centre can access the lessons, with parents required to pay ahead of the start for the complete programme, so that a place is booked for them.

The business manager for Freedom Leisure, Stuart Harding, told One MK that they would provide those youngsters taking part with an early advantage when it came to learning, adding:

“Our new partnership with Water Babies is very exciting and now enables the centre to provide a full programme of swimming lessons from babies and toddlers up to adults.”
