Milton Keynes is set to play host to a major robotics competition later in the year, which will see teams from all over Europe going up against each other.
This event will be one of the biggest of its kind in any European country and will feature teams made up of university students. They will have to deploy their skills in technology to build robots capable of completing a number of tasks, including flying medical drones, picking warehouse items and packing them and delivering coffee.
This will be the third time that Milton Keynes has hosted the event, with the previous ones being in 2019 and 2023. As on those two occasions, the venue for it will be centre:mk. This shopping centre is also a principal partner for the event, alongside Milton Keynes City Council.
It is called the Smart City Robotics Competition and is central to the city’s aim to be a UK technology hub. It will make up one part of Milton Keynes Tech Week 2025.
