Outdoor yoga fundraiser held in Milton Keynes

The Milton Keynes Peace Pagoda was filled with colour recently when it served as the venue for a class teaching people yoga in the open air, to raise cash for Willen Hospice.

Over 250 residents of Milton Keynes clad in their liveliest attire took to the Pagoda to show off their yoga skills at the class, which took place on August 14 and was organised by local studio Whitespace Yoga and Wellbeing. In total, the event brought in over £1,000 for the hospice.

This particular outdoor yoga class represented the largest ever held in the town and participants ranged across the age spectrum, from grandparents to children. In addition to the main event, makeup artists Charley Payne and Bryony Butler were on hand to give everyone a glittery makeover.

After the actual yoga was finished, those who attended the class were able to enjoy a picnic in the summer sunshine, with face-painting stalls, hula-hooping, and live music. Local eateries Deli Vegeteria, the Broken Spoon, and Saf’s Kitchen provided the food to help sustain everyone.

Whitespace director and founder Deborah Berryman told the Milton Keynes Citizen:

“Today has been such great fun. We are overwhelmed by the generosity of our fabulous yogis which has helped us to make such a wonderful donation to Willen Hospice.”
