The fourth annual Oktoberfest, a popular community event, is due to be held in Milton Keynes early in October.
It is a chance to experience and participate in an authentic Bavarian cultural festival. The city is transformed for a single weekend and its people are temporarily transported to southern Germany. This type of traditional gathering has a long and iconic history, dating back several centuries.
Those attending will have the pleasure of entering the large bier tent, filing up a genuine stein and sampling many quality biers, and other drinks if desired. These are all well complemented by a choice of German cuisine both hot and cold, with frankfurters and pretzels available from vendors at the outside food court.
There will also be entertainment all day long, ranging from traditional folk music to the famous Oompah bands playing ‘Oompop’. Visitors can expect to see and hear much singing, dancing and foot-stomping, with jubilation all round.
Tickets start at £11.10, rising to £416.25 for a VIP Table, inclusive of booking fees. Alcohol sales are strictly limited to those aged 18 plus and attendees are welcome to wear traditional costumes if they wish.
