Milton Keynes to host rock group

The critically acclaimed prog-rock band Cairo are due to play a gig in Milton Keynes at the beginning of June.

Cairo are set to return to the city to present a show of neo-progressive sounds. It will include new material from their latest album, which is due for release this year. There will also be music from Rob Cottingham’s previous incarnations and projects, plus a few surprises.

The band was created by Cottingham, a singer-songwriter and keyboard player who was the founder of Touchstone. The group consists of female vocalist Sarah Bayley, guitarist James Hards, bassist Paul Stocker and drummer Graham Brown, formerly of Fraudio and The Paradox Twin.

Cario’s first album, Say, proved successful and was followed by a series of 2017 gigs. They also took part in performances in 2018, one on the HMS Prog cruise and another in 2019 in Holland. They more recently headlined in November 2021 at DanFest.

Multi-instrumentalist folk group White Sail are Cairo’s special guests on this occasion. This innovative outfit's line-up includes Sarah Dean, Chris Bartram and Jane Stockdale.

Tickets cost £16.50, inclusive of a booking fee. Print shops can be a useful resource when planning a forthcoming concert or musical event such as this.

Cairo's gig has a starting time of 7pm on Sunday, 5th June at Unit Nine, Bridgeturn Avenue in Milton Keynes.
