Milton Keynes set to dabble in folk

Folk singer Seth Lakeman, as part of a 19-date tour, is due to hold a gig in Milton Keynes in mid-November.

This wordsmith and instrumentalist hails from the West Country and was a 2005 Mercury Music Prize nominee for his album "Kitty Jay", which placed him at the forefront of a generational shift in British folk.

His next album "Freedom Fields" was released in 2006 and went gold. With brother Sean acting as producer, this record initially came out on iScream and then subsequently under the Relentless (EMI) label. It eventually proved to be the first of his six Top 40 UK albums to date.

In celebration of the 15th anniversary of the LP, he agreed to a single online broadcast performance This was followed up by the announcement of an autumn tour, where the playlist will likely include songs such as "King and Country", Lady of the Sea" and "White Hare”.

Lakeman won Folk Singer of the Year, and Freedom Fields was named Album Of The Year in 2007 at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards. It is also being re-released later this year.

Tickets cost £31 inclusive of a £3.50 commission. Banner printing can be effective in publicising a forthcoming cultural or artistic event.
